WHAT IS GRE:

It is of the acronym Graduate Record Examination,It is one of the most sought after tests amongst business school graduates in the United States and many other countries around the world.Taking the GRE is an important step toward your future, whether you are planning to go to graduate school or business school or just exploring your options. It is a smart move to show schools your best.

HOW IT WORKS:

The aim of the exam is to test the skills of candidates across key factors such as verbal and quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing. The test is generic in nature and is not restricted to specific academic faculties. Aspirants have to take the test through qualified test centers, specially designated for this purpose.

GRE LEGIBILITY:

The US-based “Educational Testing Service”(ETS), develops and administers the GRE test. ETS is responsible for setting questions, conducting the test and sending score reports.

GRE TEST STRUCTURE:

The GRE revised General Test features question types that closely reflect the kind of thinking you’ll do in graduate or business school.

• Verbal Reasoning — Measures your ability to analyze and evaluate written material and synthesize information obtained from it, analyze relationships among component parts of sentences and recognize relationships among words and concepts

Each Subject Test assumes an under graduate major or extensive background in the discipline. The tests are given at authorized paper-based testing centers worldwide in November, December and April.

Prospective graduate and business school applicants from all around the world who are interested in pursuing a master’s, MBA, specialized master’s in business or doctoral degree take the GRE revised General Test. • When and Where Do People Take It?
  The GRE revised General Test is available at about 700 test centers in more than 160 countries. In most regions of the world, the computer-based test is available on a continuous basis throughout the year. In areas of the world where computer-based testing is not available, the test is administered in a paper-based format up to three times a year in October, November and February.
• How Long Does It Take to Get My GTE Scores?
  Since the test is Computer Adaptive; test takers can get their scores almost immediately after completing the test at the test centres.
• How Many Years Are the GTE Scores Valid?
  The GTE test score is valid up to five (5) years from the date obtained before they expire.
• How often Can I Take the Exam?
  You can take the exam a maximum of five (5) times. You can also take it only once in a calendar month.
• Which Score Will the College Consider?
  Though Pearson reports the scores of all the GTE® attempts, universities usually accept the best score.
• What Happens If I Cancel the Exam?
  After taking the exam you are given the choice of cancelling your score without seeing it. If you choose to do so the score is lost forever but it gets reported on all subsequent score charts that you had cancelled an exam.
